A place to begin

Something in your life has stopped fitting. You may not know exactly why, or what comes next. You only know that the approaches that used to work no longer do.

The Threshold Conversation is a place to start exploring this honestly, without pressure to have answers, and without committing to anything beyond the conversation.

The Threshold Conversation

Frequently asked questions

Why start here?

1

The people I work with are used to solving problems quickly. This usually isn't that kind of problem. The questions that bring people here tend to be bigger and harder to articulate:

  • Why doesn't achievement feel the way I thought it would?

  • Why am I no longer motivated by the things that used to drive me?

  • Why does my life look successful but feel increasingly disconnected?

  • What happens when the structures that organized my life stop working?

  • How do I know if I need a change, or if something deeper needs attention?

These questions deserve more than a brief consultation call. They deserve time.

What happens during the conversation?

2

We spend 90 minutes looking at what's happening beneath the surface and across all aspects of your life: your thoughts and beliefs, your health and habits, your social and family support system, and your physical environment.

We'll explore what feels different now, what has led you to this point, what you've already tried, and where you feel stuck or disconnected. I'll be listening for patterns that may be shaping your experience in ways that are difficult to see from the inside.

You don't need to prepare. You don't need a clear goal. You only need to be willing to look honestly at what isn't working anymore.

What will I leave with?

3

Within 48 hours you'll receive a written Threshold Summary — a personal reflection on our conversation that captures:

  • Themes that emerged

  • Patterns I noticed

  • Questions worth exploring further

  • Areas that may deserve your attention

Many people tell me the summary becomes something they return to repeatedly. Whether or not we continue working together, you'll leave with a clearer sense of the territory you're navigating.

What happens if we continue with a one-on-one partnership?

4

Sometimes the Threshold Conversation is enough. A pattern becomes visible, a question sharpens, a new direction emerges.

Other times it becomes clear that sustained work would be valuable, because what's emerged deserves more than a single session to address properly. If that's the case, we'll talk about what a developmental partnership might look like.

The partnership runs 6 to 9 months, meeting weekly or biweekly for 50-minute sessions. The duration reflects the work itself — some patterns unwind quickly, others have been forming for decades. Following the Threshold Conversation and a full intake process, I'll make a recommendation and we'll decide together what makes sense.

You can expect:

  • Space to recognize patterns of self-override

  • Greater clarity about why achievement stopped providing direction

  • Stronger trust in your own judgment

  • Support as you reconstruct around something more durable

  • A partnership that values depth over speed

We’ll discuss investment during the Threshold Conversation, after we understand where you are and what the work requires. If you'd like a general sense before we talk, feel free to contact me directly.

How do I know if this is right for me?

5

The Threshold Conversation tends to be a good fit if:

  • Something has shifted and the usual strategies aren't reaching it

  • You're asking deeper questions about direction, identity, or meaning

  • You're open to slowing down rather than finding a faster answer

  • You don't need to know what you want, only that something needs to change

It's probably not the right fit if:

  • You're looking for immediate advice or a clear action plan

  • You want someone to tell you what to do

  • You're seeking crisis support or therapy

  • You're mainly interested in improving performance

Most people who arrive here aren't certain coaching is the right next step. They just know that something has changed, and they want a space to explore and understand before deciding what to do next.

That's exactly what this conversation is for.
